NWS: Lubbock had its warmest March on record in 2026

LUBBOCK, Texas — March 2026 was the warmest March ever recorded in Lubbock, according to the National Weather Service.

NWS Lubbock said the Hub City broke high temperature records on seven days in March. Lubbock reached 98 degrees twice, on March 21 and 26.

“The average monthly temperature in Lubbock was 62.5 degrees, easily breaking the old record by 3.3 degrees,” the NWS stated.

Guthrie, Texas recorded 104 degrees on March 22, marking the hottest temperature in our area for the month. Amarillo, Childress, Midland and many others also had their warmest March on record, according to the NWS…
