Pulaski County approves $41.7M transfer to cover payroll amid ongoing budget shortfall

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Pulaski County leaders approved a major transfer of funds Monday night in an effort to stabilize the county’s finances and ensure employees are paid on time.

The Quorum Court voted to move nearly $41.7 million from emergency reserves into the county’s general fund, a move officials said will help address an ongoing cash shortage that has been building for years.
