Home collapses, another damaged in fire near Jefferson-Orleans parish line

A fire near the Jefferson-Orleans parish line along the riverbend caused one home to collapse and damage to another one, a Jefferson Parish spokesperson said.

Firefighters responded Monticello Avenue around 3:17 p.m. The spokesperson said one home caught fire, and spread to a neighboring home. The first home collapsed while the other suffered burn and scorch marks, but was ultimately saved.

It’s unclear if anyone was in the homes at the time of the fire. WWL Louisiana has reached out for clarification…
