MPD body camera released: HSI agent fired multiple shots during DC traffic stop

WASHINGTON (7News) — The lawyers representing a man who was shot at by Homeland Security in Northeast D.C. announced a lawsuit after Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) body camera footage of the shooting was released.

On Friday, Oct. 17, 2025, at about 8:45 p.m., Metropolitan Police Department members working with federal partners attempted to stop a white Dodge Durango on the 3900 block of Benning Road NE for an alleged illegal tint and no front license plate. During the stop, the Durango struck the rear of the vehicle in front of it.
