Old Bank Razed as Montclair ‘Senior Hub’ Moves Ahead at Municipal Building

In a visible sign of progress toward the completion of a “Senior Hub” at Montclair’s Municipal Building, workers have demolished an adjacent bank building to make space for parking.

The bank had closed more than five years ago, before the township purchased the property at 57 Park St. for $1.35 million in 2021.

“The old bank building was blighted,” Township Manager Stephen D. Marks said Tuesday. “The property will be resurfaced and used for overflow parking for the Municipal Building and Senior Hub, which is now under construction.”…
