Business owner urges change after weekend shooting damages Shreveport businesses

SHREVEPORT, La. — A weekend shooting across the street from several businesses has renewed safety concerns in a Shreveport neighborhood after gunfire struck multiple properties, according to a local business owner.Shawn “Bos‑Man” Boston, owner of Bos‑Man’s Barber College, said the shooting happened Sunday in the 2700 block of West 70th Street and that bullets crossed the street, damaging not only his business but others nearby.“The situation that happened this weekend, I guess it was a shooting across the street,” Boston said. “Once again, what came on this side of the street hit not just my business, but other businesses.”Boston said tensions surrounding the incident appeared to escalate due to activity on social media involving people on “different sides of the fence.”He said while shootings cannot be entirely prevented, steps can be taken to reduce the conditions that often lead to violence.“We can’t stop this shooting.
