APD confirms new “Downtown Plan” to address drug use and homelessness

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — Asheville police are rolling out a major crime enforcement and quality-of-life action plan in the city’s downtown corridor, following repeated complaints from business owners, residents, and visitors about open drug use and homelessness.

The Asheville Police Department (APD) says the “Downtown Plan” will prioritize repeat offenders and increase coordination between enforcement and support services.
