BPD to hold DUI checkpoint on Friday, April 10

BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — Drivers in Bakersfield could encounter a DUI and driver’s license checkpoint Friday night as police step up enforcement aimed at reducing impaired driving crashes.

The Bakersfield Police Department Traffic Unit will conduct a DUI/driver’s license checkpoint on Friday, April 10, 2026, at an undisclosed location within the city limits. The checkpoint is scheduled to run from 6:30 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Officers will be watching for signs of alcohol and/or drug impairment and will also check drivers for proper licensing. Police said motorists will be delayed only momentarily…
