Two spot fires that erupted Thursday along the Santa Ana River bottom in Riverside were quickly knocked down, without damage to surrounding structures.
The non-injury blazes were reported at noon Thursday in the area of the Mission Inn Avenue bridge and Scout Lane, within an old Boy Scout camp, according to the Riverside Fire Department.
