Following budget cuts that prevented Emory University’s Student Programming Council (SPC) from holding its annual fall Homecoming concert, SPC announced that Atlanta-based rapper Lil Yachty will headline the Dooley’s Week Concert on April 17. Lil Yachty is known for songs like “Pardon Me” (2020) and “One Night” (2016). He previously headlined the Dooley’s Week concert in 2018.
The concert will take place on McDonough Field, and begins at 6:30 p.m. Student acts, including DJ Bennett Levine, Run the Row and DJ Rish, will open.
Lil Yachty, born Miles Parks McCollum, was born and raised in Georgia. He gained popularity after releasing his first mixtape “Lil Boat” (2016) and was nominated for a Grammy Award for his work on the single “Broccoli” by DRAM in 2016.
