Just weeks away from the kickoff of the annual spring Fayetteville Dogwood Festival, its executive director issued a plea to Fayetteville City Council members at their April 6 work session: Money is needed to keep the longstanding Fayetteville tradition going.
The 44th Annual Dogwood Festival will be held April 24-26 in downtown Fayetteville and Festival Park, 335 Ray Ave. The three-day event features musical acts, vendors, food and carnival rides.
“We market it as a free event for the community. It will stay a free event to the community,” Dogwood Festival Executive Director Kaylynn Suarez told members. “That is our whole mission statement and what we’re built on.”…
