3 critically injured after DUI crash in Fresno, police say

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A suspected DUI driver ran a red light at a high rate of speed and crashed into a vehicle, injuring two people on Friday morning, according to the Fresno Police Department.

Police say around 12:18 a.m., officers responded to a call of a crash at Dakota and Chestnut Avenues.

Officers say that when they arrived, they found two vehicles involved in a crash. One vehicle was wrapped around a pole, with a woman in her 30s pinned in the vehicle. Police say the impact caused the engine and transmission to be removed from the vehicle.

A second person, in that vehicle, a man in his 30s, was ejected during the crash. The man and the woman were transported to Community Regional Medical Center, both in critical condition…
