TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— It is that time of year for spring property taxes in Indiana to be paid, but this year, people will get an extra day to pay them.
Normally, they are due on May 10th, but that is a Sunday this year, so the due date falls to the next business day, which is Monday, May 11th.
“Our recommendation if you plan to mail your payment is to go into the post office and have their staff member stamp your envelope with that day’s date to ensure that you don’t get any late fees,” Meny said. “We do honor that postmark. Whether we receive it three months down the line, we will honor that date and waive any of those late fees.”…
