All-you-can-eat Korean BBQ opens in Jacksonville. 3 things to know

A new Korean barbecue spot is firing up grills on Jacksonville’s Southside. Gogi Korean BBQ opened March 6, in the Regency area, taking over the former Red Lobster at 416 Commerce Center Drive. The all-you-can-eat restaurant offers a menu of beef, pork, lamb and seafood cooked tableside by diners themselves.

Gogi joins a small but growing group of Korean barbecue restaurants in Jacksonville, alongside established spots like GEN Korean BBQ House at the Markets at Town Center and Vagabond Korean Steakhouse near Tinseltown.

For newcomers, Korean BBQ offers a different experience from traditional American barbecue. Instead of large cuts of meat cooked “low and slow,” Korean BBQ features smaller portions grilled quickly over high heat right at the table.
