MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Alabama State Board of Education met this morning in the auditorium of the Gordon Persons Building in Montgomery.
The board recognized several educators during the meeting. Shelley Grimes from Brookwood Elementary School in the Enterprise City School System was honored as the 2025-2026 Alabama Elementary Physical Education Teacher of the Year.
Rodney Dorsey from Jackson-Olin High School in the Birmingham City School System was recognized as the 2025-2026 Alabama High School Physical Education Teacher of the Year. Jovanka Ward from Ramsay High School, also in Birmingham, was honored as the 2025-2026 Alabama Health Educator of the Year…
