Woman rescued from Lake Ontario after jumping from Charlotte Pier

Rochester, N.Y. — First responders rescued a woman from Lake Ontario in Rochester Thursday evening.

The Rochester Fire Department said a 40-year-old woman intentionally jumped off the Charlotte Pier around 4:30 p.m. Crews found her clinging to the pier, and firefighters in swift water suits jumped into the lake and successfully pulled her to safety.

The woman is being treated at a local hospital for severe hypothermia, the fire department said…
