Williamsport, Pa. — Brittney Gross, coffee director and business partner at Sweetspire Coffee in Williamsport, has placed second in the annual U.S. Coffee Cup Tasting Championship competition hosted in Raleigh, N.C. on March 26-29.
The competition challenges coffee experts from around the nation to test their sensory skills. Competitors are given three identical-looking cups of coffee. Two of the cups contain the same coffee, while a third is different. Each competitor tastes, smells, and has to remember which of the three coffees is different. Competitors have 8 minutes to find the odd cups in eight trios of coffee cups, making this challenge an exciting and fast-paced part of the U.S. Coffee Championships.
