Strong to severe thunderstorms across Northern California possible on Friday

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Active weather conditions are forecast for the Sacramento region on Friday, with rain, thunderstorms, and above-the-passes Sierra snow all expected. The primary threat will be the thunderstorms, as some could be severe. Any thunderstorms that form could produce heavy rain, hail the size of quarters to ping pong balls, gusty winds, and even a funnel cloud or brief tornado.
