TAMPA, Florida — A 15-year-old boy has been arrested for making threats to Middleton High School, according to Tampa police.
Just after midnight on April 9, 2026, the Tampa Police Department was alerted to a threat made against the school. Investigators learned that a student at Middleton High received a text message on Wednesday from the suspect, identified as 15-year-old Daniel Ahorrio, of Riverview, Florida, which read: “Middleton bomb,” “Tomorrow.”
Detectives quickly launched an investigation and identified Ahorrio, who is not currently enrolled at the school. In the early hours of Thursday, the Tampa Police Bomb Squad conducted a sweep of the school campus to ensure there was no active threat before staff and students arrived.
