TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Thursday was a happy signing day for Walker Elrod. The Grace Christian senior was our Scholar Athlete of the Week on Wednesday, and 24 hours later, he made things official with the Air Force Academy, the first Division I signee in GCA history.
Elrod is a three time GIAA cross country state champion, and a two-time 3200 meter champ, all while balancing a 4.0 GPA as a dual enrolled student.
Getting into the Air Force is a process. He had congressional nominations from senators and a member of congress, but all the work to get here was more than worth it…
