Syracuse, N.Y. — A man fatally shot on a street on Syracuse’s South Side on Wednesday afternoon was the father of a teen who died in a shooting two years ago.
The victim of this week’s shooting was Deron L. McGee, 39, of Syracuse, according to Kieran Coffey, a spokesperson for Syracuse police.
McGee’s son, Deron McGee Jr., 15, was shot in the head near the Parkside Commons apartment complex on Aug. 12, 2024. He died three days later at the hospital. He was a Corcoran High School student who loved motorcycles and classic cars, his family said at the time…
