BRUNSWICK COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – Emergency crews are responding to an active wildfire burning in the area of Funston Road and Old Mill Creek in Winnabow, according to the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office.
The fire is 20 acres, with the North Carolina Forest Service wildfire map reporting it has been 100% contained as of 6:12 p.m. Thursday. However, containment does not mean the fire has been completely extinguished.
