As a CandysDirt.com writer, I have been known to write more than once about the glorious white houses. As a homeowner, I also have been known to paint houses white — two so far.
Why? They’re crisp and clean. They stand out from the landscape. They glow in the summer sun. They gleam at dusk. The contrasting trim, whether it’s red (like a front door I once owned), blue (like the shutters I added), or black (so on trend right now), is a perfect accent to the lines of the house and prevents the white from being too vanilla.
But white is not the best color for every house. White is not my favorite color. (Technically white isn’t really a color, but let’s not argue that here.) What I can tell you is that a beautiful color, my favorite color, is lavender…
