Man sentenced for gun charge after being shot by police in Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – The man who was shot by officers during an arrest attempt in Lincoln last November was sentenced on Thursday.

Court records show that 41-year-old John Massa was sentenced to five years probation for attempted possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.

He was initially charged with possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and possession of a controlled substance. As part of a plea deal, the possession of a controlled substance charge was dropped from his case after he pleaded no contest, court documents show…
