(NEWS 15) — News 15 Investigates has uncovered new information in a public corruption case involving a mayor and members of law enforcement in Evangeline and St. Landry parishes.
Sources tell News 15 Investigates that the criminal defendant who was allegedly leaked confidential information by five officials is Rufus Searile, a Ville Platte activist. Searile has been jailed since November on child sex charges.
Investigators subpoenaed his mobile phone records and found the numbers and multiple instances of contact with the five individuals now accused of malfeasance in office.
