Northwest Louisiana residents concerned about rising utility bills

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – While gas and food prices continue to rise, people across northwest Louisiana are concerned about increases on their utility bills.

Over the past few months, many Delta utility customers have noticed an increase in their gas bills. Delta said the increases were due to a rise in supply and demand.

“We saw pretty significant increases between about August of last year and February of this year, when the natural gas market was at its peak and reacting to what happened across the country with winter storm Ferns,” said Porteous. “So we saw increases of up to 160%. So that was certainly something that customers were experiencing on their bills.”
