Neighbors in Gainesville’s Wentworth Green fight to save beloved beaver family

A beaver family in Gainesville’s Wentworth Green community faces “lethal removal” after Prince William County Public Works determined their dam is blocking a critical stormwater facility and creating a flood risk.

But residents are rallying to save the “cherished members” of their community — Buc-ee, Miracle and their kit Chance — arguing the animals are being wrongly blamed for the drainage issues.
