Woman rescued by boater after jumping from Lake Wylie bridge, sheriff says

A woman who jumped off the bridge that connects Charlotte and South Carolina at Lake Wylie on Friday afternoon has been rescued, officials said.

Police and other emergency responders from York County and Mecklenburg County went to the area around the Buster Boyd Bridge after 4 p.m. responding to calls about a woman in the water after she jumped, said Sgt. Johnathan Gilbert of the York County Sheriff’s Office.
