Catoosa County Tire Amnesty Day 2026: Free scrap tire disposal event in Ringgold May 9

CATOOSA COUNTY, Ga. — Got old tires piling up? Here’s your chance to roll them out for free and clean up your space at the same time.

Catoosa County residents will be able to dispose of scrap tires at no cost during Catoosa County Tire Amnesty Day on Saturday, May 9, from 8 a.m. to noon at the Catoosa County Public Works facility in Ringgold.

The guidelines for Catoosa County’s Tire Amnesty Day are:

  • 12 tires per vehicle limit
  • Tires must be dismounted from vehicle, dry, free of mud/debris
  • Tires up to 20” wheel diameter are eligible
  • No commercial truck, tractor, or heavy equipment tires
  • Available for Catoosa County residents only (must show driver’s license)
  • Not available to commercial businesses
  • Participants must unload their own tires

The event is funded through Scrap Tire Abatement Reimbursement grants from the Georgia Environmental Protection Division, which help cover the cost of collecting and transporting tires to approved recycling facilities.

“We appreciate the continued support from our state partners at EPD,” said Public Works Projects Supervisor Alex Wooten. “During last year’s Tire Amnesty Events we collected about 90,000 pounds of scrap tires, so we want to continue the success with the next event in May to give county residents an incentive to turn in their scrap tires for proper disposal.”…
