CHESAPEAKE, Va. — An electrical malfunction prompted a temporary evacuation at Greenbrier Mall on Friday, the Chesapeake Fire Department said.
Fire crews responded to the mall shortly before 12:30 p.m. after receiving reports of a smoky odor. Firefighters worked with mall security and Dominion Energy to investigate a power surge affecting parts of the building.
