24-acre horse farm in northeast Marion sells for $1.45 million

A 24-acre horse farm in northeast Marion County that features a custom “barndominium” and extensive equestrian facilities was just sold for $1,450,000.

Dirk and Stephanie Frommann sold the estate to Caleb and Madeline Stauss on Monday, April 6. The deed for the transaction was filed with the Marion County Clerk of Courts on Thursday. The seller was represented by Cory Freilich of Re/Max, the buyer was represented by C. Sandon Wiechens of Wiechens Realty.

Located at 11553 NE Highway 315 in Fort McCoy, the 24.16-acre property is anchored by a 3,800-square-foot home. The first floor of the home contains two primary suites, and the second story contains a loft with an additional bedroom and office space. The home also features three bathrooms.

According to an online real estate listing, the residence was built with a focus on energy efficiency and structural durability. Accordingly, the home features 3-foot buried footers, galvanized steel reinforcements, and open-cell spray foam insulation.
