Final preparations underway as SUN ‘n FUN Aerospace Expo brings NASA, Thunderbirds

LAKELAND, Fla. (WFLA) — With four days to go until the start of the SUN ‘n FUN Aerospace Expo, forklifts, golf carts and RVs are buzzing around the campus to get ready for the influx of more than 200,000 people.

Mark Alexander, of Adel, Georgia, and James Crews, of Rockledge, Florida, are brothers-in-law and, for these few weeks in April, RV roommates.

“I love the camaraderie, being around the pilots, learning from them, hearing their stories and how they got started in their careers,” Alexander said.

They travel every year to Lakeland to volunteer on the Warbird ramp at SUN ‘n FUN…
