Thunderstorms, rain prompt rare tornado warning in San Joaquin County

A tornado warning issued Friday afternoon expired by 3 p.m. but a severe thunderstorm was expected to remain over the Farmington area until 3:15 p.m., and residents were urged to move to an interior room on the lowest floor.

The tornado warning was issued Friday, April 10 by the National Weather Service for the Stockton region, the San Joaquin County Office of Emergency Services posted, and urged residents to be ready to take shelter and stay away from windows.
