Thomasville man accused of 2023 Tallahassee bank robbery pleads guilty to gun charges in Georgia

ALBANY, Ga. (WCTV) – A Thomasville man arrested for a Tallahassee bank robbery in 2023 who fled police and was captured in Georgia pleaded guilty to firearm charges Thursday, according to a U.S. Attorney’s Office Middle District of Georgia press release.

Jonathan Lamar Wooten, 53, also known as “Chico,” entered a guilty plea to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Wooten is facing 15 years in prison, followed by three years of supervised release and a $250,000 fine, per the release.

Wooten was arrested in connection with a shooting at Envision Credit Union on North Monroe Street in May 2023. He is facing charges in Florida, including attempted murder, aggravated battery and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon…
