MIDDLETON, Wis. — The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction is honoring the Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District for its sustainability efforts.
The DPI on Friday announced that the district was one of the two recipients of this year’s Stewardship and Sustainability Award. The award highlights districts that lead the way in developing healthy and environmentally-conscious learning environments for students.
MCPASD was recognized for its work to transition all district operations to 100% renewable energy by 2035. That includes installing solar panels at its schools and adding electric buses to its fleet.
