MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — Two brothers pleaded guilty for their roles in the Feeding Our Future fraud scheme, bringing the total number of people convicted in the case to 65.
Suleman Yusuf Mohamed and his brother Gandi Yusuf Mohamed admitted to their involvement in the scheme, U.S. Attorney Daniel N. Rosen announced. The brothers were charged alongside five other people who pleaded guilty in March.
Suleman Mohamed ran a company called Star Distribution that was supposed to provide food to meal sites participating in the Federal Child Nutrition Program. Star Distribution received about $10.1 million in federal funds, supposedly for providing food for more than 4.8 million meals, but spent very little of that money on actual food…
