Crews in Ozark, Mo., complete bridge erosion project

OZARK, Mo. (KY3) – City crews in Ozark completed work on the Mill Pond Bridge after erosion on Friday.

A kayaker alerted KY3 News about erosion near the bridge. John Marsh said he was doing his usual loop in March around the bridge when he noticed the cave-in where the bridge meets the hillside. A city spokesperson said Ozark first learned of the erosion in late February.

The city brought in its engineer of record, Cochran Engineering, to assess the damage. City officials said the erosion likely occurred because of tree growth in cracks in the concrete slabs.

Crews coordinated an on-site review with engineers and contacted the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and FEMA to ensure all work met regulatory requirements…
