[1] Santa Fe hears from developers on proposed homeless shelter – Leaders from Interfaith Community Services spoke with residents about plans for a new shelter called “The Rock,” which would be located near Santa Fe Place Mall. Plans for The Rock include a 24-hour facility designed to serve Santa Fe’s unhoused population. The proposed shelter would provide 125 overnight emergency beds, a daytime space for people experiencing homelessness, and connections to services such as housing assistance and other support programs. Developers will still need to secure permits before construction can begin.

[2] ABQ restaurant forced to increase some menu items due rising costs of beef – As the rising costs of beef continue to impact consumers, local restaurants worry customers may be impacted as businesses are no longer able to absorb the higher costs. The New Mexico Cattle Growers’ Association says the supply of cattle here in New Mexico is limited, due to drought and continued concerns over a parasite that can infect livestock. The NM Cattle Growers’ Association says it takes time to rebuild herds meaning higher beef prices will likely continue into 2028.

[3] Widespread storms move into New Mexico with warm to cooler air – Showers and storms will become more widespread across New Mexico Friday afternoon and continue into Saturday. Windy weather will then return Sunday and early next week. Better low-level moisture will move into New Mexico tonight and Friday, helping produce more showers and thunderstorms by Friday afternoon.
