UCCS exploring branding change to CU Colorado Springs

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The University of Colorado Colorado Springs said it is exploring a change to its branding from UCCS to CU Colorado Springs and offering a survey for feedback.

According to UCCS, as the university advances the Healthy Campus Initiative, they are taking the next step in looking into whether a shift from UCCS to CU Colorado Springs could enhance its long-term sustainability and market position.

UCCS said the branding wouldn’t change the name of the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, but would change UCCS to CU Colorado Springs. If approved, the change would take multiple years to fully transition to prioritize financial stewardship.

According to a study published by the University, about 43% overall prefer the new CU Colorado Springs name, while 57% of people surveyed who live in El Paso County prefer the old UCCS name…
