HALEIWA, Hawaii (Island News) — Large boulders that fell onto Kamehameha Highway north of Waimea Bay has completely closed the road on Friday afternoon. The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) reported the highway will be closed throughout this week’s storm.
HDOT reported Kamehameha Highway north of Waimea Bay closed in both directions at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, April 10, 2026, due to falling boulders.
