BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – The Gary Sinise Foundation is working directly with the 99th Air Refueling Squadron and 117th Air Refueling Wing to help members attend the dignified transfer and funeral for one of the airmen killed during Operation Epic Fury.
Captain Ariana Savino, 31, of Covington, Wash., is one of six airmen killed when the refueling aircraft they were aboard crashed in Iraq on March 12.
Tech. Sgt. Ashley Pruitt, 34, of Bardstown, Ky., and Major John ‘Alex’ Klinner, 33, of Trussville, were also killed in the crash.
All three were assigned to the 99th Air Refueling Squadron, co-located with the 117th Air Refueling Wing at Sumpter Smith Joint Air National Guard Base in Birmingham.
Tech. Sgt. Pruitt’s funeral was Wednesday, and Major Klinner was laid to rest in late March…
