BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Santee Cooper announced that the Pinopolis Lock, connecting the Cooper River to Lake Moultrie, reopened Friday morning.
In January, the initial closure occurred due to routine maintenance. However, in February, unforeseen issues required the crews to extend the shutdown to complete additional repairs.
The closure raised concerns among boaters about difficulties in traveling between waterways and its impact on fishing activities.
