There are any number of reasons that mom, dad or an older loved one may choose to move into a senior community. Some people may want to be closer to friends, some may want to no longer be burdened with the upkeep and care of a home, and some may be looking for additional medical support as they grow older.
Regardless of the reason, it’s important that families and loved ones are engaged not just in the decision, but in the care and support of their family member after the move. That’s especially important because there can be a lot of hesitancy in even the discussion of moving.
