KOSCIUSKO COUNTY — Students Isabella Griffin of Warsaw, Laura Deckena of South Whitley, Hannah Moore of Pierceton and Henry Crance of Columbia City are among those recognized in the 29th annual Cooperative Student Art Contest, organized by Indiana’s electric cooperatives.
Deckena earned first place in the ninth-grade division, and Makenna Krause, also of South Whitley, who took first place in the 12th-grade division. Cooper Baird, Isabella Martin and Mary Mondok of Fort Wayne were also winners.
Luciana Harmon, a junior from Jeffersonville, has been honored as Artist of the Year for her piece portraying a deer in an Indiana forest. Using colored pencils, Harmon enjoys creating detailed artwork that depicts “animals and nature to bring glory to God through the beauty of his creation.”
