North Carolina trooper injured in crash with speeding truck on U.S. 29, highway patrol says

GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. β€” A North Carolina State Highway Patrol trooper was injured Friday afternoon in a collision with a speeding truck on U.S. 29 after the driver failed to yield, according to Trooper Whitt Efird.

The crash occurred around 3:35 p.m. when the trooper spotted a Ford truck traveling at a high rate of speed and activated lights and siren, according to Efird. Officials said the truck did not yield, and the two vehicles collided.
