Fresno company creates one-of-a-kind firefighting truck for Kansas

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A one-of-a-kind firefighting truck is rolling out in Kansas next week thanks to a Fresno company.

The custom truck features the largest vehicle-mounted ventilation fan in the world, boasting a 60-inch fan powered by a hydraulic scissor lift that extends 20 feet into the air and rotates 360 degrees.

It’s designed to clear smoke, heat, and toxic gases from even the most complex environments in minutes – and thanks to the hard work of Tempest, a Fresno-based manufacturer of firefighter safety equipment, the Kansas City Fire Department is getting ready to use it.
