Gilmore Car Museum showcases GM ‘dream cars’ in new exhibit this weekend

HICKORY CORNERS, Mich. — The Gilmore Car Museum is stepping back into time with a new exhibit featuring vehicles from the 1950s and 1960s.

Beginning Saturday and continuing for the next year, the museum will present a special exhibition of eight original General Motors Motorama dream cars from the Joe Bortz Auto Collection.

“The Motorama goes back to the mid-century, and it is an opportunity for GM, in this particular case, to highlight what they saw as the future of automotive design, and the car, and how we interact with it,” Nick Lacasse, executive director at the Gilmore Car Museum, said. “So the dream cars, which became a part of the Motorama, weren’t necessarily made for production-ready vehicles. They are a dream car.”…
