A routine Friday morning in Woodland Hills turned into something straight out of an action movie just after 2 a.m., when a homeowner woke up to strange noises outside and stepped into a situation that ended with bullets flying in both directions. The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed officers responded to the 5500 block of Fallbrook Avenue following reports of a shooting, and what they found at the scene told a pretty dramatic story on its own.

According to initial information from news stringer KNN, the homeowner discovered two men dressed in matching black hoodies doing their best to make off with his Chevrolet Camaro, which was sitting in his own driveway. Instead of calling it a night and letting them take it, he confronted the suspects. Things escalated fast. Gunfire was exchanged between the homeowner and the two would-be thieves, leaving behind a trail of evidence that investigators would not exactly have to work hard to find.

By the time police arrived, bullet holes had already punched through the front door of the home, spent shell casings were scattered across the ground, and there was blood on the hood of the Camaro in question.
