Syracuse University Art Museum will host free Community Day on April 18

The Syracuse University Art Museum invites Syracuse families and community members to a free Community Day on Saturday, April 18, from noon to 4 p.m. at the Shaffer Art Building on the Syracuse University campus.

The afternoon features hands-on art-making activities inspired by “Why Does My Adobo Taste Different?,” a monumental woven installation by Filipino-American artist Bhen Alan currently on view at the museum.

Visitors can also take on a museum-wide scavenger hunt, participate in writing and drawing activities, and enter a raffle for 10 mini prints from the museum’s popular Mini Print Vending Machine.

From 1-3 p.m., interdisciplinary textile artist Francisco echo Eraso will lead “Eco-Crip,” a workshop on stimming and craft processes presented in partnership with the Burton Blatt Institute’s Center on Disability and Inclusion…
