Corpus Christi leaders weigh whether to open splash pads amid drought

City of Corpus Christi officials are evaluating whether — or how — to open municipal pools and splash pads this summer amid a severe drought that threatens to eventually become a water emergency.

City Manager Peter Zanoni said in a news conference April 9 that analysis of water consumption needed for operation of the splash pads and pools, when the facilities would be fully open, was underway.
